1990. Mixed in Paris. Mory Kante, from Guinea, had a huge hit 'Ye Ke Ye Ke' which I loved. So, when I was asked if I'd like to go to Paris to remix a song of his - of course the answer was 'Oui!'.
I think at the French studio where I did this, it was the first time I'd ever had a female assistant. I think they were extremely rare in the UK back then. She would stand on the opposite side of the mixing desk between the speakers so every time I looked up from the desk my eyes met with the beautiful dreamy eyes of my assistant. Distracting to say the least.
